IPTV Interactive Features - On-Screen Caller ID

Filed under: Cavalier IPTV — admin @ 2:15 pm

IPTV is projected to grow exponentially over the course of the nest few years. One of the main benefits that IPTV offers is the variety of interactive features the new technology makes available to users.

One of these features is actually a feature you an already find on just about any phone, but with a twist. IPTV allows users to view an On-Screen Caller ID. The Caller ID will provide a message on your television screen that notifies you who is calling your telephone.

Sometimes, the On-Screen Caller ID is so efficient that it will alert you of a call even before the phone rings! One customer actually reported that, “I was able to convince my wife (who, to be fair, had a couple of glasses of wine under her belt) that I had developed psychic powers.”

Satellite TV Availability

Filed under: Cavalier IPTV — admin @ 11:01 am

Not everybody can receive satellite television. If it is not possible to place your dish where it may have unobstructed southern exposure, you are not going to get good, or sometimes any, reception. This problem can’t be avoided as it is due to the way the satellite orbits the Earth. The satellite and satellite dish must have an unobstructed line of communication to transmit data.

For this reason, IPTV can provide a better alternative than satellite television. Remember however, there are limitations to any service. The DSL bandwidth requirements needed to transmit a robust TV signal require that your home be located within 10,000 line feet of an IPTV provider. In general, if the service is offered in your area, you should be close enough to your IPTV provider.

IPTV Vs. Satellite TV - Weather

Filed under: Cavalier IPTV — admin @ 10:29 am

IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) has several advantages over satellite television providers. One of the most common complaints about satellite television service is its effectiveness during bad weather.

When the weather is particularly bad, you can lose all reception, missing your favorite shows. In some areas this is a regular problem, while others will only rarely suffer. Also, the weather doesn’t even need to be particularly “bad.” Sometimes, only partially cloudy skies have been reported to interfere with the satellite signal.

While satellite TV is not necessarily a poor service, IPTV does provide more reliable and higher quality service nearly every time. The weather plays virtually no direct role in the quality or consistency of IPTV service.

IPTV Growing In Popularity

Filed under: Cavalier IPTV — admin @ 11:39 am

IPTV is becoming more and more popular due to many factors. IPTV provides crystal-clear picture and sound quality, as well as a whole host of interactive features. It is no wonder why IPTV will soon be replacing more out-dated technologies.

In fact, all U.S. television broadcasts will be exclusively digital as of February 17, 2009 by order of the Federal Communications Commission. This is to help keep a level of uniformity of broadcasts as technologies continue to advance.

IPTV provides cutting-edge quality and usability and is projected to serve over 20 million households by 2008. After the federally mandated switch-over to digital broadcasts in 2009, an even greater rise can be expected.

IPTV Versus Traditional Cable

Filed under: Cavalier IPTV — admin @ 10:34 am

Digital and IPTV are quickly becoming more and more popular amongst television viewers. Recent advancements in broadcasting technology have given consumers of the TV entertainment industry more options.

Early on, consumers reported that their IPTV service wasn’t really much better than service provided from alternative providers, such as traditional cable and satellite. With the most recent developments, however, IPTV is definitely benefiting from a competitive edge, provided by new capabilities that integrate Internet content, features, and usability into the TV set.

IPTV has many advantages over conventional cable, including high-speed internet access, video on demand, hundreds of channel choices, interactive features, on-screen caller ID, and many more benefits that traditional cable does not provide.

Affordable Telephone Service

Filed under: VoIP — admin @ 3:51 pm

One of the most popular benefits of using VOIP service is the savings in cost when compared to traditional local and long distance phone companies. There are no fees or taxes that are found with traditional phone service. Long distance calls are treated the same as local calls, and there are no limits to the amount of minutes you may use or calls you may make.

In addition, many VOIP packages include public switched telephone network (PSTN) features that most telephone companies charge extra for. Some of these features may include three-way calling, call-forwarding, auto-redial, and caller ID. Voice Over Internet Protocol also offers features not found with ordinary telephone service, such as the ability to send messages or data during conversation.

DVR - Digital Video Recorder

Filed under: Cavalier IPTV — admin @ 10:35 am

A personal video recorder, sometimes called a DVR (digital video recorder), is a device that can record television content onto its internal memory. This allows for more interactivity from the user, and provides the viewer with a plethora of features.

While watching scheduled TV programming, viewers can pause and rewind live television, record one show while watching another, and use video-on-demand services, just to name a few.

The PVR is comprised of hardware and software located in the set-top box, which serves the purpose of receiving and decoding the digital signal sent to your television. The PVR technology provides interactive features to the user through the use of the interactive program guide, or IPG.

VOIP Equipment - Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA)

Filed under: VoIP — admin @ 1:09 pm

VOIP, or Voice Over Internet Protocol, telecommunication is becoming more and more popular due to its attractive features, low cost, and high sound quality. Replacing your traditional telephone service with VOIP service is actually quite simple. All one needs is a broadband Internet connection and the proper equipment.

The equipment necessary to provide one with VOIP service varies, depending on how one would like to go about acquiring the service. There are several options available to consumers, and many people find that an Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) is a good solution.

With an ATA, you can still use your existing house phone for VOIP calls using the adapter. The ATA is a small, inexpensive device which accepts the traditional phone line and converts it to a proper signal which can be used by the VOIP service. Using the ATA is an alternative to purchasing a new VOIP-ready phone.

IP Phones

Filed under: VoIP — admin @ 9:53 am

VOIP telephone service can be enjoyed by having broadband Internet access and having the proper equipment. There are a number of solutions to bring VOIP service to your home or office.

One common way VOIP technology is being used is through the use of IP phones. These phones are specially designed to be used with a VOIP connection. In most ways, they are very similar to traditional house phones, except that rather than having a traditional phone line connector, the IP phones have an Ethernet connector.

These VOIP-capable phones plug directly into your Internet router, bypassing the actual PC itself. The actual computer is then not required to be used with the phone. The necessary technologies are self-contained in the actual phone, and connected to the Internet directly through the router.
