Broadband Internet

Broadband Internet access is another word for hi-speed Internet.  Broadband Internet uses extremely high speeds to process information and usually has a very high rate of sending out data.  Internet connection that is 256 kbit/s or higher is considered to have broadband Internet access, but the FCC considers broadband service to be data transmission that is 200 kbit/s.

Broadband technology allows a computer to have more rapid Internet access.  Some of the services that Broadband Internet is able to offer users are gaming, streaming media, services that involve the transference of bulky amounts of information, and many other interactive services.
