Digital television is television broadcasting that uses sent and received moving images and sound through digital signals. Cavalier’s digital television uses a technology called IPTV, Internet Protocol Television, or Broadband Television. Comparable to the way that computers receive information, IPTV is transmitted, through electric signals, to a customer’s television through an Internet delivery system.
The programming and content that is shown on Cavalier’s digital television is obtained through local and national content sources. The material is processed through progressive video trans-coders for real-time translation to a specially selected MPEG4 video stream. MPEG4, developed by the Moving Picture Expert Group, brings high-resolution television to Cavalier’s customers. This technology was first used by none other than Cavalier.
As we all know, Cavalier has an extremely widespread fiber optics network. This vast network directs the video streams through central office buildings and converts the signals to a DSL broadcast, finally sending it the customer’s home.
