T1 Reliability

While T1 is typically more expensive than DSL service, T1 broadband does offer many advantages over DSL. The greatest one of these advantages is the level of reliability T1 provides over DSL and Cable lines, which commonly go down during the course of business. Unfortunately, they typically do not offer any guarantees to reimburse you for critical time lost that may cost your business thousands of dollars. T1 lines typically come with some type of service level agreement or SLA.  This SLA guarantees minimum uptime which averages from 99.9% to 99.999%.  They provide you with compensation or service credits should their service fall below this expectation.  Other guarantees include maximum latency, minimum packet delivery, and protection against chronic outages.
