What Affects the Price of T1?

There are three factors for a T1 installation, and those variables are: build out, loop, and ISP service. Build out tends to be the most influential factor for rural users, which can get up to $10K or more if there are no facilities, or a lack of CO equipment. The T1 provider should also have a backhaul to their network, which not all of them do. Be sure to research your potential T1 provider.

Loop charges also factor in. This can be higher for rural loops as they might need more physical line usage. Most metro areas already have service built out, which means that these customers should only be paying for line maintenance. The actual Internet service is the cheapest part of T1. So, if buildout doesn’t kill you, and the loop charges are within your reach, go for T1.
