Cavalier Uses Cutting-Edge Technology

Cavalier Telephone, a Virginia-based CLEC company, Announced in mid-2005 that they had decided to use Amino’s AmiNET124 set-top box, as a means of delivering their IPTV services to customers. The set-top box is designed for easy customer installation, and has the additional benefit of being able to receive field-upgrades at little cost to the customer.

The AmiNET124 set-top box was one of the first to support MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) video compression standard. The MPEG-4 format allows higher-quality picture and sound to be delivered to customers. Cavalier was the first in the nation to use MPEG-4 technology.
