Digital Television is the sending and receiving of images and audio through digital signals. Cavalier Digital Television is transported using a broadband signal and is a 100% broadcast quality video signal. The digital signal is grouped into packets that are sent out and recovered by the Set Top Box in your home. The signal is then put back together by the STB. The signal is transmitted through the use of Internet Protocol (IP).
Cavalier’s digital television uses a broadband signal and a system known as IPTV (Internet Protocol Television). Digital Television is much different than satellite TV or regular cable. With satellite and cable all of the channels that your service provides are being delivered to you at one time, but with digital television you are only receiving the programs that you select on an individual basis. The makes for a faster, more reliable, substantially interactive viewing encounter.

IPTV is projected to grow exponentially over the course of the nest few years. One of the main benefits that IPTV offers is the variety of interactive features the new technology makes available to users.
One of these features is actually a feature you an already find on just about any phone, but with a twist. IPTV allows users to view an On-Screen Caller ID. The Caller ID will provide a message on your television screen that notifies you who is calling your telephone.
Sometimes, the On-Screen Caller ID is so efficient that it will alert you of a call even before the phone rings! One customer actually reported that, “I was able to convince my wife (who, to be fair, had a couple of glasses of wine under her belt) that I had developed psychic powers.â€

IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) has several advantages over satellite television providers. One of the most common complaints about satellite television service is its effectiveness during bad weather.
When the weather is particularly bad, you can lose all reception, missing your favorite shows. In some areas this is a regular problem, while others will only rarely suffer. Also, the weather doesn’t even need to be particularly “bad.†Sometimes, only partially cloudy skies have been reported to interfere with the satellite signal.
While satellite TV is not necessarily a poor service, IPTV does provide more reliable and higher quality service nearly every time. The weather plays virtually no direct role in the quality or consistency of IPTV service.

Digital and IPTV are quickly becoming more and more popular amongst television viewers. Recent advancements in broadcasting technology have given consumers of the TV entertainment industry more options.
Early on, consumers reported that their IPTV service wasn’t really much better than service provided from alternative providers, such as traditional cable and satellite. With the most recent developments, however, IPTV is definitely benefiting from a competitive edge, provided by new capabilities that integrate Internet content, features, and usability into the TV set.
IPTV has many advantages over conventional cable, including high-speed internet access, video on demand, hundreds of channel choices, interactive features, on-screen caller ID, and many more benefits that traditional cable does not provide.

IPTV is a method of delivering television content through a closed-network system. It provides high quality digital cable to customers, as well as many interactive and custom features.
IPTV services offer basic interactivity to support navigation of the vast amounts of content. An electronic program guide (EPG), sometimes called an interactive program guide (IPG), allows viewers to browse both the scheduled and on-demand content that is made available to viewers.
IPGs allow viewers to see what programs are available presently, as well as upcoming and past programs. Interactive programming guides provide filters that allow the user to see content that matches specified criteria, such as time, topic, or type of programming.
