Voice T1

Voice T1 lines can be extremely useful and are most commonly found among businesses and call centers with multiple telephone lines or very large call volumes. In these conditions, it is much more practical to have one T1 line than two dozen traditional telephone lines. Each T1 line can contain up to 24 individual channels to be used for voice or data transmission. So, a pure voice T1 line will have 24 telephone lines with extremely reliable service, quality reception, good long distance rates, as well as a large selection of calling features. In addition, voice T1 lines use digital or analog transmission, which is very useful in situations that do not allow for the use of a PRI line, which is always digital.

Full T1 Lines

T1 is a type of telecommunication line used to deliver voice and bandwidth information over a reserved circuit. This method incorporates the use of copper or fiber-optic cables, which are capable of providing up to 24 separate channels for use in voice or data transmission.

Full T1 lines use all 24 of these channels to provide 1.54 Mbps of data transfer, including high-speed Internet access and voice conversation. Full T1 lines are ideal for, and most commonly used in, businesses which contain 5-50 employees.

Each of the 24 channels may be allocated to serve a different purpose. For example, a full T1 line with 24 channels may be split in half to accommodate a business office with 768Kbps of bandwidth connectivity and 12 separate voice telephone lines.

What is T1?

T1 is a term commonly used to describe a specific type of leased telecommunication line. T1 lines are reserved circuits that use both copper or fiber-optic cables, and which are most commonly leased by businesses and other organizations on a monthly or yearly basis.

T1 lines provide efficient voice and data networking abilities, so businesses can easily stay connected with satellite offices and secondary locations. T1 lines consist of a circuit of up to 24 separate channels that transmit data at 64Kbps each, therefore giving a full T1 line the capacity to transmit 1.54 Mbps of data both sent and received.

The advantage of using one of these reserved circuits is that it guarantees a minimum amount of bandwidth at all times for network traffic, making them ideal for businesses which rely on Internet and other network use.
